Prayer requests (last update 09/20/09):
- Pray that God would open the eyes, ears and hearts of the many kids at ICSC who need Christ.
- Pray for us as we train for our new positions in Young Life and MOPS. Pray for the building of new relationships through these ministries and that God would use us in ways we can’t imagine.
- Pray for our grasp of the Portuguese language as we take classes and study.
- Pray for wisdom, love and the right words from God for the teachers at the school as they share everyday with these kids.
- Please pray for our financial needs. We are thankful to God for all our new financial supporters. We are closer to our goal and are currently at about 90% funded.
- Pray for the poor families in the area of our church as we try to meet their physical and spiritual needs. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we reach out to them. Pray that they will sense the love and peace of God in their lives.
- Pray for the renewal of our temporary visa. All documents have been approved. We are waiting now for delivery of the official residency card.
- Pray for God’s leading in the way of housing and our desire to have a space conducive to youth get-togethers.
- Thanks for praying!!
Thanks for posting the updates–will especially be praying about Isaac’s schedule and contentment and impact it has on your teaching.
Hi–we had Breakaway at Avalon last night. We wanted you to know that you are missed. Do you have a field address there in Portugal that I can send a package to? The kids last night made something we want to send you. Please know you are in our prayers!
Blessings,
Pastor Kerry
And we miss Breakaway! Keep up the great work. It is a wonderful way to reach people.
Our new address is:
Rua de S. Nicolau
No. 170
Bairro Fausto Figueiredo
2765-170 Estoril
Portugal
Thanks!! I’m sorry I didn’t see it earlier on the tabs above.
Blessings to all of you!
Pastor Kerry for the Breakaway Gang
We are so happy to hear about the answer to prayer for Isaac’s schooling!!!
BTW–our small group was talking about this at lunch today: Is there anything that needs to be done over at your FW place that might make a good small group servant project?
Glad to hear about God’s provision for Isaac’s meds. That can be a huge expense. Sounds like you are adjusting well and the Lord is providing as he promises. We will continue to keep you in our prayers. Don’t know if you heard that TUFW is closing in the spring and a number of familes at church are involved there and will be needing employment. Keep us all in your prayers also.
There is much good news here since the last time I checked in! May you know God’s goodness in today’s small things as well as in these big ones He has been taking care of for you.
I know a librarian who would probably be happy to answer any questions you might have in those new responsibilities!
Thanks for the updates–we will be praying!
It was so good to see you this summer. Too bad it isn’t more often. Thanks for the updates. We’ll be praying for strength and guidance as you start your busy schedule.
